ONE review

Posted on Nov 15th, 2006 by Phaedrus : Jedi Phaedrus
My copy arrived yesterday; I watched it just before I went to bed last night.

Wow.  Just... wow.

It wasn't quite what I expected, and that's a good thing.  Instead of being straightforward interviews, there's a story thread of sorts that more or less attaches it all together.  The interview segments themselves are pretty powerful.  I actually found myself having much stronger emotional reactions to things said than I thought I would.  I watched it with my 2nd oldest son (he's 22), and he had a similar reaction to it... I am looking forward to watching it with my 17 and 12 year old over the next few days, and I'm definitely looking forward to watching it with my students and their families.

If you're reading this and aren't planning on attending or arranging a screening, you really should consider changing your mind.  This is a film worth seeing, over and over again.  I'm a little intimidated by what may happen energy-wise after the movie, especially if this truly does become a global event, but not a bad intimidated... one point that was made in the movie was that so many of us are really most afraid of our own power... by who and what we could be, given the chance... this movie has the potential to start unleashing that power.

Do yourself a favor... see the movie.

(I'll be watching the extras tonight, and I'll comment on those later.)

$60.00 for a movie? Your blog has peaked my interest, but that's expensive! Have you seen “What the Bleep Do We Know” and “Down the Rabbit Hole,” the extended version of “What the Bleep”? They are absolutely wonderful, and much much cheaper, and they're available to rent from some places, including Netflix.

It is expensive, but you can also order it directly from the ONE website for only $30. If you go through Mu, you get a signed copy of the movie, the soundtrack, and the study guide, so it pretty much comes down to how much “stuff” you want to own. :-)

Haven’t seen the movies you’ve mentioned, though I have seen “What the Bleep Do We Know” in a local bookstore… I’ll likely pick it up in 2007, I think.
